So Ranjit brought his R32 it seems with one goal in mind…..TURBO! The conversation was short and brief, he knew what he wanted and I was only happy to oblige. With the various options I have available he choose to go with the decompression plate route as he didn’t want to rotate earth on its axis and wanted to remain sensible…..if that’s at all possible! LOL.

On this build, we chose to use a BorgWarner Turbo. Price vs performance and availability made this decision really easy. This with a 38mm wastegate will ensure that Ranjit can run all and control to boost on tap. The engine has had a top end refresh as head gasket was on its way out so required a skim and new seals etc. The usual timing chains were duly replaced, along with heavy duty bearings and ARP hardware to keep everything in check.

With a heavy duty clutch mated to stock dualmass flywheel, everything was bolted back in place and an intercooler was selected and mounted to the front panel and the car was shipped off to Style Dynamics for boost pipes and exhaust fabrication……and these guys sure know their stuff…….TIG porn!

So with all of that done and signed off, it was time to get this beast running and out the door, the ECU was then loaded with our bespoke custom firmware and a custom Cal was built, bespoke to this car and everything dialed in on 12psi of boost and sent on its way. It will be back for more in due course but for now, Ranjit is happy. Volume up and hit play!
